Third District Membership Information

Information for Potential Members

Anyone 16 years or older may apply to become a member of the fire department. We prefer that you live within a reasonable distance from the station.

We do a thorough background check using the Pennsylvania State Police P.A.T.C.H. system on every applicant. We accept personnel with a “clean” background check.

How to apply

Download the application and the criminal records check form. Fill out all area of the application and fill out the areas highlighted in yellow on the criminal background form. If you do not know anyone from Third District Fire Company leave the “sponsors” section blank. Sign the application in pen and drop it off at the Station. Anyone under 18 must have a legal guardian sign the form. You may place it in the mailbox on the front corner of the building or give it to a member. You can always mail it to 1141 Harrison Street Bristol, Pa 19007.

What’s Next

A representative of the fire department will contact you for an interview.

After the interview, the representative will likely ask you to attend the department body meeting held the first Tuesday of the month at 7:00 pm.

At the meeting, the membership will ask some simple questions. The President of the department will notify you of your status during the meeting.

Assuming you are accepted for membership, the Vice President and Deputy Chief will sit down with you after the meeting and explain the By-laws of the organizations and give you a copy of the SOPs.

Training is held every Wednesday night at 7:00pm and you will be expected to attend Bucks County Fire Fighter 1 within the first year.
